I am starting to think that Obama would have had a much better chance of winning Ohio and Texas if he would run negative ads against Senator Clinton. I think one thing that a lot of people admire and draw them to Obama is the fact that he plays to win but at the same time doesn't seem to stoop to the same level of a Bush or I would even say a Clinton in order to win. But at some point he may have to push back hard against these attacks, as it seems the Clinton's will do anything to win at this juncture.
I think her Hillary's antics on sixty minutes were disguting and at this point she will do anything to win. The problem is this type of stuff works and seeps into the public consciousness. Her ad with the red phone while in my opinion laughable, does seem to resonate with voters. No matter how many times people say negative ads turn voters off, it seems like election after election shows they work.
Now I really liked Obama's two minute closing ad and I guess as the front runner he should be above the fray and act presidential. If that is what he was looking to accomplish then he did but as a former college basketball player I think I have learned that when someone is down you have to keep up the pressure and make sure they can't get up.
For example during the two minute ad he stated that he will not let Washington lobbyists run things when he is President. I think that resonates with people, but what if he then showed a chart with how much more money from lobbyists Senator Clinton has receieved then any other Presidential Candidate, it is not even close. When he talks about the war in the commerical he should point out that Senator Clinton has admitted she did not even have the time to read the NIE before sending soldiers to war. I would even think an ad about her touting her 35 years of experience and then highlighting her work for Wal Mart or her work as a corporate lawyer might at least put her on the defensive about this line she keeps pushing.
I am extremely proud of the campaign Obama has run and I truly feel honored to have volunteered for him and believe in him not only as a politician but as a person. Just think at some point you have to be aggresive and not always having to respond to these riiculous attacks. Just a thought. What do people think?
