I have been a participant (although not very active) on this site for a couple of years. So I hope some of you will give me the benefit of the doubt because I cannot name my source. Its very simple, the race is over and top Clinton people have internalized this as of yesterday 3/3/08.
The person I am referring to, in an unguarded private moment, was recounting the exhausting time this surrogate has had. You all know this person, the person is a top surrogate for the Clinton Campaign, this person has incredible access in the Clinton Campaign and, although not an attack dog, is considered a Clinton loyalist.
After my source expressed sympathy for the surrogate, the surrogate said " oh well, its all ending tomorrow anyway". My source is non-political, this was a single unguarded moment in a very long afternoon in my source's presence.
Coupled with Tom Brokaw's staement's, which is the subject of a front page diary" that 50 supers are moving to Obama tomorrow, and the very fine analysis over at the Field and also on this site, that after today, the math will make it even harder for HRC to win has now convinced me that HRC will pull out this week.
One more thought,
Texas results are coming in now, over 900,000 votes tieh Obama well ahead. I don't think the huge early Obama advantage was unexpected by the Clinton Camp.
I am going to sleep very optimistic tonight.
UPDATW: MSNBC Howard Fineman just said top Clinton aide said Ohio is not enough. Texas is necessary also. BTW. It was an undisclosed source. So its not just me and the NYT
2nd Updated: Thank you for the first time Recommend Diary. I think it was more because of the discussion on the thread then my post, but its still a thrill.
