I wish i could've posted this last night, but i got home too late. The primary part of the election yesterday went ok. i still wasnt convinced that voting with a diebold machine was the best way, but whatever. the caucus part of the election was a DISASTER.
Im in El Paso. The place i went to caucus in was not organized at all. the people in charge of trying to get everthing together were all Hillary Clinton supporters. it was obvious. I dont blame them. they volunteered. I blame the El Paso Democratic party. No one was there to monitor how things were being conducted. there was no order, people left early and probably didnt get counted. i know this because i was about to leave. Except i ran into an Obama monitor from out of state. he told me to stick around to see how i could help. thank god i did. the folks who were signing people up for the caucus were telling the people they could leave after they signed in. MANY of the voters that came in to caucus were tired of all the comotion and just walked out. We had the El Paso Democratic party on the phone but it wasnt much help. Hillary Clinton supporters were also mad. please dont think that because im an Obama supporter im a sore loser. No, I will vote for Sen. Clinton if she's the nominee. I ended up being selected as a delegate for the county convention later this month. but what i want to stress out is that no one was ready for the turnout that we had last night. when i got home i watched the local news, and i wasnt surprised to see that other voting locations were also having trouble with all the people that showed up. Texas needs to change this stupid two step thing. Im sorry, but it is stupid and last night proved it.
