I have had it. Logically, this should be a good thing: two great Democratic leaders, fighting neck-in-neck for an impassioned primary electorate of Dems, people registering as Dems just to vote in an exciting race, free air-time for our candidates as they discuss how much better they could make this country, people forgetting about that old washed-up McBush, and reinforcing the impression that the Democratic race is the real race for the White House. That's what it looked like it was going to be (to me) on Super Tuesday. A drawn-out race, but a good race. Didn't happen. Hillary went dirty. Of course, she has every right to differentiate herself from Obama, but the bullshite lies, the impugning of his integrity, and finally the "me and McCain are ready, but Obama's not" crap that we are hearing. . . . This must stop.
The Party Leadership (and I use that loosely): Dean, Pelosi, Reid, Gore, Edwards & the 2008 also-rans need to tell Hillary to cut the shit. Of course, she wont' listen, but they should tell her that they will go public jointly and denounce her tactics and her candidacy if she doesn't cut it out completely. This has to stop. By standing by silent, they are letting this happen and they are complicit in this. They are helping the Republicans and turning the country over to four more years of Bush. They have a responsibility to step in.
Does anyone have any better ideas?
