Some attacks and charges by Hillary on Obama have not been addressed sufficiently and are still festering!! These charges and attacks are cooking in voters' minds making them more fertile to new attacks. The new attacks will build on the previous ones and the leftover unresolved/un-addressed questions and impressions!!
Let's , in this diary, start a list of attacks against Obama that we feel need to be addressed more strongly or fully!
This will hopefully be a chance to highlight to the Obama campaign the attacks and charges that we feel need to be addressed. If nothing else, this will reinforce other similar messages that they might be receiving.
The first one that comes to mind is ...
Continues below the fold ...
The first one that comes to mind is Hillary’s attack on Obama accusing him of dereliction of duty because he did not call any meeting in the Senate sub-committee that he chairs.
I believe that there are good reasons why he did not do this, and that the scope of this Senate sub-committee is not as important or critical as the Clinton campaign makes it out to be. However, if not addressed and laid to rest, this attack can create very very strong negative damage on Obama!!
An item in this response could mention the fact that Obama has taken on the very important calling and responsibility of running for the Democratic Party's nominee for Presidency; a calling that has required his dedicated focus, energy and very long hours every day. This can be emphasized by highlighting the URGENCY of this calling.
A second attack that comes to mind is the one on NAFTA-gate as Hillary refers to it. This needs to be addressed STRONGLY because it damages Obama on many levels. It should be easy to address this one especially with recent revelations, and even turn it on the Clinton campaign since it seems they were the party that contacted the Canadian Embassy in DC.
I believe that because this issue was not addressed sufficiently, it damaged Obama's credibility and contributed to Hillary's win in Ohio and maybe even in Texas.
This past Friday Sen. Clinton was building on this old attack, even though it has been shown to be false, by attacking recent comments about Obama’s plans to pull troops from Iraq by Obama's adviser Samantha Power who just resigned. In this new attack Hillary was labeling it as another example of Obama saying something to the voters, and telling foreign governments something different!!! Again another example on building on previous attacks about what she calls NAFTA-gate, with a new charge and attack!!!
The attacks on Senator John Kerry's honorable service in Viet Nam built one-on-the-other to form an irreversible impression of him!! Let's not allow the attacks on Senator Obama to build on each other!!
In summary let's list such issues and attacks that need to be addressed more fully so that they don't become building blocks, or don't create a more fertile ground for other attacks. Then, let's pass them to the Obama Campaign as suggestions for action.
Yes We Can build a working majority which will step up to the challenges facing the nation and the world!!!
