So today we see Republican Rep. Steve King saying "...if [Obama] is elected president, then the radical Islamists, the al-Qaida, the radical Islamists and their supporters, will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11 because they will declare victory in this War on Terror."
This is one of the most asinine statements I have ever read. I thought the whole point of Islamic fundamentalism was to create an Islamic state, where the first thing they will be able to finally do is... make dancing punishable by death. Kind of defeats the purpose to celebrate that way, hmm?
In fact, maybe that's really what Rep. King meant -- with Obama elected president, the terrorists would have no choice but to stop waging war on us and start getting down with their funky fresh selves.
Which would make the Islamic Fundamentalists like the hick town in the movie Footloose with Obama playing the part of Kevin Bacon.
But to be fair to Rep. King, I can say with some certainty that if George Bush were to suddenly drop dead, the terrorists really would be dancing in the streets.
Of course, so would EVERYBODY ELSE.
