We’re all aware of Hillary’s insult to Mississippi:
She called Iowa a "special burden" for her campaign and said it was her "hardest" state.
"I was shocked when I learned Iowa and Mississippi have never elected a woman governor, senator or member of Congress," she told the paper Monday. "There has got to be something at work here."
"How can Iowa be ranked with Mississippi?" she asked rhetorically, adding that the Magnolia State lacked "the communitarianism" and "openness I see in Iowa."
Yeah, okay. Read: Why hasn’t Iowa elected a woman to national office? Mississippi lives in the dark ages (and I use that term deliberately). But Iowa? Certainly Iowa is more progressive, smarter, more willing to support change. More willing to support, well, me.
And then I read the Bill twofer from today . . .
I can picture the moment. The charm exuded; the eye contact; the personal moment as he reaches out as ELVIS RETURNS TO TUPELO:
He acknowledged some of the elected Democrats, as well as Mississippi Democratic Party vice chair Carnelia Fondren, whom he asked to join him on stage.
Here’s the money quote:
She's a superdelegate, she's got more votes than the rest of us," he said.
Read: These poor misguided people of Mississippi don't know that I'm a superdelegate as well. Aw, shucks, they're fools but they love me 'cause I'm the Big Dawg in these parts . . .
So Mississippi, ya’ll think he’s a homeboy and missed the superdelegate part, right? He’s just like the rest of you? Well, he thinks he is.
Clinton came to the Magnolia State after a day campaigning in what he said was "rural" Wyoming, not minding the redundancy. He'll remain in the state Saturday, kicking off a full day of events on the Gulf Coast. Hillary Clinton, BillClinton, Mississippi He also couldn't resist referring to this particular town's most famous resident.
"When I ran for president in '92 my code name with the Secret Service was Elvis," he told the crowd. "It's a good thing it's still early so I won't try to prove it."
C’mon Mississippi. Get outraged at being pandered to and put down.
Tell the Clinton twofer campaign that Elvis and Priscilla have left the building.
