I am sure everyone that is interested in the nomination process has bee watching and shaking their heads at the turns this cycle has taken. Somewhere I read here that someone was saying that this process and the turns it is taking could well be the end of the Dem Party. I wish I could recall who said that, maybe not first, but constantly. Wait! It was me!
This is from my Word Press weblog:
She’s destroying the party in order to save it....that seems to be the conclusion of a some opinion writers today...
Obama-backing former Sen. Gary Hary writes: "It will come as a surprise to many people that there are rules in politics. Most of those rules are unwritten and are based on common understandings, acceptable practices, and the best interest of the political party a candidate seeks to lead. One of those rules is this: Do not provide ammunition to the opposition party that can be used to destroy your party’s nominee. This is a hyper-truth where the presidential contest is concerned.
"By saying that only she and John McCain are qualified to lead the country, particularly in times of crisis, Hillary Clinton has broken that rule, severely damaged the Democratic candidate who may well be the party’s nominee, and, perhaps most ominously, revealed the unlimited lengths to which she will go to achieve power. She has essentially said that the Democratic party deserves to lose unless it nominates her."
All this illustrates that Clinton feels like it is her birthright to be the nominee. She will win at any cost, even if it means the destruction of the Democratic Party. Her arrogance and supplying comfort to the enemy, in this case the Republicans, shows that she IS NOT now and will NEVER be a person to be trusted with the leadership of the country. This just makes her in the same category as Bush, arrogant and selfish and ignorant.
This is a quote from the NYT politic's Blog:
The Clinton campaign has publicly admitted that the only way they can still win this election is by tearing Barack Obama down. They have called their attacks the "kitchen sink strategy," and Senator Clinton herself has referred to it as "the fun part" of the campaign. The result has been a constant barrage of attacks about Senator Obama's record that they know full well aren't true. And yet they repeat them, over and over again, day after day, in an attempt to deceive the American people just so that they can win this election.
Does the Clinton campaign realize they are destroying the party with this stuff? They are breaking rules of the game, especially the one about not saying anything too negative about your party opponent. Plus Clinton has basically told voters that if she is not the nominee then they should vote for McCain.
I apologize if I am somehow offending the Clintonistas, but your candidate is destroy my Party. The long she uses these sleazy tactics the sooner we can kiss the Democratic Party good-bye. I have watched this attack bullsh*t intensify and I see the Party breaking in half or the possible destruction completely. The more it is ignored the easier the destruction will be. It is time for "real" democrats to stand up and demand that this crap stop!
Peace Out!
