This is my first attempt at a diary so please be patient. Something has been nagging me for a while now and I could never put my finger on it. This years election seems to have finally made it clear. When did politics or elections become a search for perfection?
I have listened to all the gotchas and the constant tearing down of opponents and it has me trying to figure out what it proves. What does it say about the candidate? How does it help the voters have an informed opinion? I can't see the logic in it at all.
Yes logic, a scary thought to anyone looking for the simple answer I guess. To me a candidate should run on their merits. They should stand as a man or woman of honor that wants to help their community state or country. Political office is an honor and privilege to serve.
I am a BO supporter for the reasons above. He has made me feel something I never did before. I have never delved into anything beyond the basic issues until this year. I actually feel good for once about something to come in this country.
I have served in the Air Force and have a brother in the Army that has been to Iraq. I am a truck driver now and have talked to many independent truckers on how hard it is to make a living. Many don't realize they are one major breakdown from bankruptcy. I feel BO is the only candidate that gives a damn about common people and I will be waiting to watch his 8 years in office turn this country around and move to what it should be.
Go Obama
Be Well
