Technically that is true, at least not from oil companies directly. But he does take money frfom those that are employed by oil companies. So one could make the case that they are private and personal donations, not made to influence.
Obama has received in the neighborhood of $213,000 from individuals that are employed by the oil companies and their spouses. And two of his fund raisers are top executives for major oil companies and have raised upwards of $100,000 for the campaign.
And Hillary cannot point too many fingers at Obama for his statements, since she has taken about $306,000 from those tied to the oil industry.
Let us not forget the DLC, which counts Chevron and Occidental Petroleum as major corporate contributers. And since Clinton is a member I would imagine that some of that cash would make it into her campaign coffers.
My point is that Obama says he does not take oil money, he does and so does all three of these candidates. The cash is more covert than overt. In this age of my Tube it is not a good idea to make claims that can be checked in a flash.
Clinton has been caught spreading manure, so has McCain and Obama....maybe if they would use younger people for the campaign these types of mistakes could be avoided. The "old guard" still thinks that they can make a statement and have time to prepare for an attack. Not true, the attack can be started in an instance, thanks to the internet.
