The Australian News drops a bombshell:
SCIENTISTS have created "miracle mice" that can regenerate amputated limbs or damaged vital organs, making them able to recover from injuries that would kill or permanently disable normal animals.
The experimental animals are unique among mammals in their ability to regrow their heart, toes, joints and tail.
The money quote is below the fold.
And when cells from the test mouse are injected into ordinary mice, they too acquire the ability to regenerate, the US-based researchers say.
What does this have to do with politics? Same old same old.
Practical immortality is loosely defined as a series of steps: the ability to appreciably extend life to the point where the next medical advance can extend it even further.
Read the money quote again. This is cheap. They use a needle to extract some cells [apparently] from the livers of these genetically altered mice, and then inject those cells into the livers of unaltered animals - conferring, in one treatment, the same benefits enjoyed by the altered animals.
Politics? How do the rich keep control? How do they make it so expensive that they can do the same thing to the poor of the world, that our rich Repugnants have done to the citizens of NOLA?
I don't know how - but we'd better keep an eye on this.
Yes, it is too politics - and maybe the most important politics that any of us will ever encounter.
