In the face of a campaign that has attracted more Americans donating under $500 than ever before in history, Senator Barack Obama is being tagged with the slander of being an "elitist." Crazy as it seems, a similar accusation has worked before and it can work agian---
Read the accusations below:
A Senator, who was brought up by his deceased single-mother, for some time on food stamps, is now an elitist, according to two other senators worth over $100M by virtue of marriage.
A Senator who just a few years ago paid off his student loans, when over the age of thirty, is being called an elitist by Senators who never had student loans to pay off.
A Senator who witnessed the institutional problems of poverty and urban blight when working in the ghettos of Chicago is now being called "out of touch" by Senators whose tawny residences in Chicago, Arizona, and the governors mansion in Arkansas never bordered on areas of urban blight.
Perhaps this Senator Obama will testify that he clung to his religious faith and his rituals rather than hoping that the government would solve his problems though food stamps.
But we will see--elitist and self-hating? Perhaps the $100M candidates are those "in-touch"!!
In 2004, a similar trial was designed for the Vietnam Veteran John Kerry. One of the most dedicated Veteran's Rights advocates, Kerry's Vietnam experience and years of Veteran advocacy was distorted to make him seem, not merely someone who did not live though Vietnam, but someone who was also anti-veteran, anti-his-own-history. If the truth about Kerry were actually true, Kerry was anti-Kerry, because Kerry believed that Kerry's type was a son-of-a-bitch.
And so today, we have Obama described as being person who despises himself, much like Kerry. The Obama today, he looks down upon the Obama of the past whose mother lived on food stamps. That Obama and his mother clung to things--like religion and ritual. And just like working class voters who cling to the same things that he clung to, religion and ritual (hunting), we are to believe that Obama believes that relying upon or clinging to the known, the assured, is derogatory in times when a government is out of touch with a people's problems and when a government cannot simply comprehend and define the unassured.
Ths self-contradiction, ascribed to Kerry in 2004, and ascribed to Obama today, is not to be believed, for it is simply impossible that, to take the case of Obama, a man could live a life being brought up by a struggling working-class single-mother and then somehow, just years after paying off educational loans, despise all that he was.
The attack by Hillary and McCain, is exactly textbook Karl Rove: Attack the opponent for what he is, most assuredly and what you are not, most assuredly, and make your weak points seem to be their weak points. [See 2004 campaign.]
Other than George Bush, the ruler of the free world, and his wife, is there anyone more "elite" than than the former wife to the ruler of the free world and her husband? Come on now! Maybe Putin or Bill Gates is more "elite," but not many other people!! Hillary and Bill are in the top 10 or top 5. Obama is not at that party.
This is the total B.S. Strategy, aka, your strengths=my strengths and your weaknesses. It worked in 2004, and Hillary et al. is smart enough to run it.
Kerry failed to answer questions such as this in a strong manner will Obama answer them?
