I just read the funniest thing on Huffinton Post. The McCain website posted "McCain" family recipes under Cindy's profile to show that Cindy is down with the common people. Now believe it or not . . . .many of the recipes are shockingly plagerized from the Food Network website, word for word - ingredients and instructions. I did not see this was posted on DKos and felt it was a fun bit of McCain fluff to share.
The wonderful Huffington post article is linked here -McCain Family Recipes
On the grand scale of things, this is really no big deal. But it makes me laugh because it was so stupid to do and well, the recipes they choose don't even relate to the "common man". I mean really. . . Ahi Tuna Napa Cabbage Slaw - Which common man makes that for dinner???
CNN (and TMZ) are now reporting that Recipegate was the work of an intern, and that according to McCain's campaign, the whole thing is a "low-level unpaid staff debacle." McCain Family Recipes
Does any republican realize that lying and stealing recipes is a bad thing? They lied twice, once taking the recipes and then saying that they were Cindy McCains. Do they realize what common people on a budget eat?
The recipes included:
"Ahi Tuna with Napa Cabbage"
"Passion Fruit Mouse"
"Farfalle Pasta with Turkey Sausage, Pease and Mushrooms"
"Rosemary Chicken Breasts, Brown Butter and Balsamic Ravioli, warm spinach Salad with Pancetta and sweet vinaigrette"
They included a link to the cached page with the recipes and the profile of Cindy McCain with airbushed pictures so she doesn't look too much like Joan Rivers (after all the pastic surgery and without the humor). Cached profile of Cindy McCain with recipes
I mean, can't she steal better recipes than these?? If you want to steal, steal the tollhouse recipes and add walnuts or something daring for republicans.
