With apologies to lowbrow readers of the Florida Progressive Coalition blog and DailyKos, the title of this post is not a reference to the current news out of the Florida Senate on... well, fake bull testicles you hang from your truck bumper.
Instead, I'd like to direct your attention to the current situation in the Florida House. Instead of discussing anatomically correct automotives, the Democrats wanted to carry on a debate about FCAT standards. I think Floridians, progressive or conservative, believe that this should be a worthwhile and in-depth discussion. Not the Republicans. They pulled a move to limit the debate on this issue.
Justifiably outraged, Democrats played their own hand and have now called for every bill on the agenda to be read, effectively shutting down business (except for the reading. They started with an eighty-six page bill on condominium law.) Rubio has had the clerks lock the doors and as of this hour, shut off Blackberry service for the Members as well as internet access.
Here's a thought: congratulate our Democratic Leadershipon their brave and bold move. Tell them you appreciate their work to ensure open and honest and fair debate in the Florida House. They'll get the message once Rubio turns the internet access back on.

Update: The Republicans take it to the next level.
