Did Hillary really make the following Reverend Wright-like statement in 1991:
"Where is the G-damn f**king flag? I want the G-damn f**king flag up every f**king morning at f**king sunrise."
It has been published in three books that she made the statement. See here, and here, and here.
The infamous Urban Legend Website, Snopes.com, could not disprove that this statement was actually said. See here.
In light of all the flag pin talk of late, why not rehash this oldie. Did Hillary really make this statement? We may never know. But the Arkansas state troopers, that claim she made the statement appear to have received some vindication when Bill admitted to having "sexual relations" with Gennifer flowers. See here and See here.
It may come down to a he said, she said, between the Arkansas State Troopers and Hillary Clinton. But who should we trust between those two groups? In light of what we now know from Bill's admissions in Monica-gate, I think those State Troopers have come out much more credible.
If she did say it, is this statement any different than Reverend Wright saying GD America? Trust me, to those that fought under the flag to protect it, this is no pretty statement.
If Hillary gets the D Nomination won't the R's kill her with a thousand cuts worth of this type of very substantive arguments? We are being very foolish, if we think this is not what the election will turn to if Hillary is nominated.
This is such an important issue maybe ABC News and Stephanopoulos Can call Shawn Hannity and get some talking points on this one too.
Is any of this relevant? Maybe that is the real question. But I know one thing, it is just as relevant as whether or not Barack Obama wears a flag pin.
