With some sadness, I left the staff of Netroots Nation last month. If you were a person who submitted a panel proposal, you might have known me as "Carolyn Dulchinos."
I just wanted to let you all know that working for YearlyKos and then Netroots Nation was a wonderful experience for me. Thanks to everyone I met and worked with along the way.
I made good friends with the other staff people, past and present, and learned lots about the impressive potential of netroots organizing.
It was an honor to serve as the point of contact, last year, for many of our distinguished panelists. I was flattered and pleased that the organizers gave me work to do that I found interesting and truly helpful to getting last year's convention off the ground. That convention was, for me, a peak experience.
Just the fact that I'm posting this -- my first diary ever -- and am working my nerve up to start posting at a Colorado blog says something about how broadening this all has been. Heck, I've got Skype, I ichat now, I've really had my eyes opened to so much opportunity out in the world to advance progressive ideals. I'm more optimistic than ever.
The '08 Netroots Nation Convention in Austin will, I'm sure, be fantastic. I know the organizers are working hard to pull it all together -- I hope you'll all have a great time!
