if you look at other factors
Ok I am rehashing some points already mentioned before, but here are my 2 cents anyways
Remember Obama had pretty much lost PA by a 20 point margin if one was to go by the polling couple of weeks ago. and most of the PA folks were the older demographics as well as the union demographics who had pretty much decided to vote for Clinton and were not going to budge. the sniper fire lies didn't do much to change their minds. So considering that Obama managed to whittle down the lead from 20 pts to 10 pts difference is pretty impressive (granted he outspent her 2-1). but in the coming days, thats the narrative his campaign will be giving to the superdelegates.
Hillary has lost bad with the superdelegates..to trounce Obama she had to invoke 9/11 and Bin Laden, talking points that are generally reserved for Rudy and his ilk. The fact that NYT, a big Clinton supporter, had to admonish her for playing fear tactics that Democrats found so despicable when Bush was running in 04 only convinced me further that the superdelegates must be frowning even more at her tactics.
Finally keep in mind that while everyone, including our new favorite Maureen Dowd, is now questioning Obama's manhood because he "couldnt close the deal" in PA, what they are forgetting is that Obama is sticking to his game of not fighting Clinton in way that will make her look like a victim. What I mean is this....he could have gone really medieval and negative on Hillary, but that would have evoked accusations and imagery of 1) male beating up a female 2) Hillary doesnt deserve this negativity because she is a former First Lady 3) White folks in PA would have really been turned off by this imagery. Considering that Obama has so far kept the gloves out of respect for a fellow Democrat and a former First Lady, I would say that only a 10 point loss wasnt so bad. Had he invoked the former Clinton years and their shenanigans, Im not sure that Hillary's lead would have been as big.
He will now have to make sure the media changes its narrative to seeing if he can trounce Hillary in Indiana and NC
