We've had way too many pooties pass over the Rainbow Bridge this year and last. We still have a few left, but they are all ancient. So - as luck would have it - we had to swing by PetSmart for some supplies, and - who do we see there but this little cutie-pie?
So of COURSE, we brought him home.
[sigh]
Little heartbreaks walking is what they are.
Problem is, we are stumped what to name him. Weird. We usually come up with TOO many names. So, I'm asking for your help. Will you give me some suggestions?
If you like to name kitties based on how they look, here are some more photos:
If you like to name based on personality, he is a teeny bit feral, I think, not too well socialized. He growls. A lot. He's feisty, and loves to play. One thing that drew us toward him was how lively he was in the cage, bugging the crap out of his siblings.
If the events around the date of birth are what you name pets by, we figure he was born soon after New Years Day. (The card said he was 12 weeks old, MOL.)
Well, that's all we know about him. We've only had him about four hours.
Help us name our kitten!
UPDATED: You guys are fantastic! I am so grateful - thank you so much!
Some more good ones I'm not able to add to the poll:
Gator
Felix
Mikey
Sammy
Floyd
Reggie
Leroy
Jimi
UPDATE 2:
Thank you everyone for a lot of great ideas. We tried a lot of them out last night and this morning, he responds to NONE OF THEM. Not one. Oh well, I guess it's up to us.
This morning he got up, did about 20 laps around the house, ate like a pig, did 20 more laps and ate some more. Then he spent about 30 minutes batting a plastic cap around on the tile floor. AHA, we thought - he's trying to make a GOAL! He's playing HOCKEY!
And voila - we have christened him Vinny, like Lecavalier!
UPDATE 3:
I doubt anyone's still following this, but - just in case, here is the rest of the story. We realized after a few hours of calling "Vinny", it reminded us too much of "Winnie" - one of the kitties we had that passed away this year.
That bummed me out too much, so we went back to the drawing board. Or - actually - we went out. We had some errands to run, so getting away from the "what to name the kitten" conundrum for a while refreshed us, and it came like a bolt - "REGGIE"!
He's Reggie now. And all is well and right with the world once again.
