Just a thought. We keep spending time talking about Obama's VP. Markos' recent top picks include:
Richardson
Dodd
Sebelius
All reasonable picks, along with Webb, Clark & Zinni. But, what if Obama's best pick was (drumroll):
John Kerry. I know it sounds a little far-fetched, but hear me out.
Kerry would bring him:
Experience: Perhaps Obama's greatest liability
Military: Able to challenge McCain on national security
Political Veteran: No training necessary, thoroughly vetted.
Compatability: He gets along great with Obama
Seniority: He'd be L.B.J. to Obama's J.F.K.
But, the biggest thing he'd bring would be:
Familiarity. People don't really know Obama, and they may be reluctact to take a chance on him. But, having the presidential candidate from 2004 would remove all doubts. He wouldn't have to build a national profile. And, he'd be in a strong position to say----"I told you so", refuting the failed Bush policies.
Just a thought. Perhaps a good one, perhaps a bad one. But let's at least consider it.
UPDATE: Okay, okay! I see there's no love for Kerry here. But, if you don't like Kerry...is there another, well-established, ELDER STATESMAN that Obama can run with?
