If India, Pakistan, China, Russia or North Korea were to threaten to launch nuclear weapons at America there would be an international crisis.
Yet the best we can muster when a potential president threatens unequivocally to obliterate an entire nation is to mumble a few words of disapproval, or worse still, to cheer.
Her boastful claims are at best a sorry and desperate attempt at saying anything to win votes and at worst nothing more than mindless arrogance and diplomatic incompetence.
I have no intention to justify or defend any actions by Iran or any other nation, nor do I deny that America or any other country has a right to defend itself.
However, I cannot condone a repeat of the biggest abuse of power by the Bush administration.
Self-justified Pre-emptive War.
That single arrogant, immoral and indefensibly irresponsible act has done more harm to the long term security of this nation and its allies than any other. Compounded by a systematic disregard for the Geneva Convention and the United Nations these actions have undermined the moral code that maintained world peace for decades.
If there ever were an argument that Iran should have nuclear weapons, Hillary made it for them. Her outrageously irresponsible statement implying she would obliterate Iran is nothing more than pure and blatant terrorism.
Nothing, short of an imminent nuclear attack on this country, could conceivably provide an excuse even to consider the use of nuclear weapons.
Is she simply ignorant, insensitive and immoral? Or does she really believe she has a right to kill tens of millions of innocent civilians in order to get elected. Instead of North Carolina and Indiana, she needs to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Before you think this is all just mindless ranting, read this: AFP (released a few minutes ago):
Iran complains to UN over Clinton's attack threat
UNITED NATIONS (AFP) — Iran's UN mission has complained to the Security Council over US Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton's threat to "totally obliterate" the Islamic Republic if it were to launch a nuclear attack on Israel.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its deep concern over, and strong condemnation of such a provocative, unwarranted and irresponsible statement against the Iranian nation and civilization," Iran's deputy ambassador to the UN Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi said in a letter to the council released here Thursday.
He said Senator Clinton "unwarrantedly and under erroneous and false pretexts threatened to use force" against Iran.
If you're reaction to this is "We don't care about the UN", remember that the rest of the world does care. No matter what Bush and Cheney believe. America is an amazing country, full of optimism, free, prosperous and morally upright. Yet it has allowed itself to be run by characters so ridiculous they would look fake as villains in a Bond movie.
We must never again allow arrogant, selfish, narrow minded and diplomatically insane individuals anywhere near nuclear weapons.
I cannot imagine a bigger cause of nightmares than thinking of Hillary with her hand on the big red button at 3am, deciding that she no longer likes China or Pakistan or North Korea.
It's time for a president that believes America has a moral obligation to participate in international affairs with diplomacy rather than destruction.
