I keep wondering why more has not been made of HC's remarks in the US media. I spend time abroad where there is a noticeable difference on reaction and coverage of her military stance and many of my European friends have questioned me why the US media has not been discussing her words threatening Iran and her "umbrella" policy for the ME outlined in the last debate.
The BBC released an article covering Tehran's reaction to HC's words while reiterating their stance.
insists its nuclear programme is solely for power generation, denounced her words as "provocative and irresponsible".
I found what HC said then as I still do now, an irresponsible statement that was skated over without much discussion in the US news media.
Obviously I disagree with the media's decision to not cover this as rabidly they do news which holds no consequences in the problems facing the American people. It flatly insults me.
It said the remarks were "a flagrant violation" of the UN Charter.
In a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi, Iran's deputy ambassador to the UN, said Mrs Clinton had "unwarrantedly and under erroneous and false pretexts threatened to use force against the Islamic Republic of Iran".
The article goes on to quote HC:
"If I'm the president, we will attack Iran... we would be able to totally obliterate them," she told TV network ABC.
"That's a terrible thing to say, but those people who run Iran need to understand that, because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic."
I for one am not convinced that the threat tactics, while may have worked earlier in our history, do not work anymore.
This is one of many reasons I support Senator Obama. I am anti-war and I want a president who will use diplomacy before making outlandish statements pissing off leaders in other countries, which she seems to have a knack at while further damaging our bleak reputation in the world.
I won't even touch on '100 years in Iraq' McSame, but the more I listen to HC, the more I don't see any difference between her and McSame. I have been very observant of the numerous articles of late with both their names in the headline, not as opponents but as adversaries.
