This is NOT an attack on any named diarist. Please refrain from using it as such. It is a lament of the things being written that i find curiously lacking in a rebuttal by fellow HRC supporters. And a creeping feeling that's comig over me, that i can best describe as "whatever". A feeling of indifference when i read about Clinton supporters who think it's okay to label me as a demon worshipper (my phrase).
this is what transpired:
Diary Named: Clinton supporters NOT seeking unity went on Bill O'Reilly
Hillary Clinton needs to denounce and reject them (28+ / 0-)
She needs to stand up and tell people who are planning this that they need to work for the party. The only way to unify the party is to stop madness like this.
Poll worked 7am to 5pm! Ran caucus till 10:30pm! Proud Texas dem!

hen, Hillary went on to include these bloggers (8+ / 0-)
and supporters in one of her morning teleconferences, never once saying that they should support Obama, but that they are going to take it to the convention floor if need be.
It gives them credibility and emboldens them in their quest. Had she said in these teleconferences that, "If it turns out Obama takes this nomination at the convention, I want you to promise me you'll vote for Obama over McCain in November." I could see where she was really trying to relay that message. But when you point out to these people that she's said this, they tell you that is her "publice message". That she's only saying that because she has to. Which is also disgusting to me, personally. If someone said they teleconferenced with Obama, and something he said was his "public message", but he doesn't really believe it (Think NAFTAgate/Canada) I'd be inclined to look elsewhere for my candidate.

... in that particular call. But when Senator Clinton stressed, during the call with the bloggers, the importance of defeating the Republicans, regardless of who wins the nomination, and said in response to the first question that "if you have voted for either Barack or me, you have more in common than you may think right now ... and you certainly have more in common with each other than you do with McCain and the Republicans," I heard the same message as the public one.

she doesn't need to denounce and reject - she is doing the "right" thing by comparing the democrats to the republicans. yet she wants it both ways, if you invoke sexism because you're not winning and tell your supporters that you're being discriminated against - then it neutralizes what she said about voting for Obama over McCain.

... you're not getting the message because it wasn't intended for you.
It's excrutiatingly clear to me that if Obama is the nominee, HRC wants me, as one of her supporters, to back him in the general. If you want her to say it in way that makes you happy, why don't you write her a polite letter and ask?

I shouldn't have to ask! (0 / 0)
are you kidding me?!
we are all democrats - or am i wrong? She is a leader in the democratic party, it is HER job to lead US as democratic party followers. it is HER job to tell her supporters to urge her supporters to help the presumptive nominee to lead the democratic party to a win in November. It is NOT my job to tell HRC what to say to unite the party - she is a smart woman, and if it is her intention to unite, it will happen. My job, as an Obama supporter, and as a democrat is to make sure that HRC supporters, like yourself, do NOT get the false impression that we hate HRC or her supporters, and to GOTV for the democratic party. I did not dislike HRC b4 the primaries, i live in NY i voted for her election to the senate. I just happen to think that Obama will make a better leader. HRC would be my second choice. It's not so complicated and hateful as some of her supporters seem to think.
I will not be writing HRC any letter. And i've always been polite, gracious and courteous to her and her supporters. and most of the democrats who support Obama are. It's time to stop using the tiny minority of HRC haters as an excuse to not rally behind the person we think will be the nominee - and i don't mean John McCain.

all this preceded by that diarrhea diary titled "Hillary or Nothing."
and i tell you what, i'm starting to feel kinda tired of trying to be nice, using my words carefully, being extra sensitive, assuming the best, defending their angry rants while trying to sound reasonable with a sense of humor.
My response to Hillary or Nothing"
Oh Sandy, did Danny leave you? (7+ / 0-)
People have some sympathy! Danny's taken up with Frenchy, and now the angry and negative Rizzo is her only friend - who comes to visit her at that institution she's being held up at, against her will. Wait until they hear she's been hate mongering online - ohhhh girl, you're in soooo much trouble!
you better dye your black and hide somewhere.

and my only question is, more importantly, where are the HRC supporters to rally against this kind of talk? Where are the people who still support her, but still understand that it is unnecessary to talk and write as if "i poisoned your prized fowl" (to use an old Caribbean saying)?
Unless, of course ALL HRC supporters are of the opinion that Obama supporters are the angels of Lucifer bent on destroying the souls of Americans everywhere, and i have to doubt that.
What are you thinking out there? What are you doing? How are you feeling? And what exactly do you expect of us - because obviously trying to be nice, doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere fast!
Where are the HRC to come to my defense to say: Hey, I love HRC but we're still democrats, and i don't hate you?!
Throw me freaking bone here! is there hope of reconciliation or should we just quit while we're ahead?!
