So, tomorrow is the special general election for LA-06 between Republican Woody Jenkins and Democrat Don Cazayoux.
Apparently robocalls are being made to registered African-American voters here in LA-06 tonight, with the script roughly along these lines:
"The Democratic Party has never funded any African-American candidate in this district, and Don Cazayoux has no endorsements from any African-American leaders in the community"
First of all, pray tell, what is New Roads Mayor Tommy Nelson? And just who has he endorsed? Oh, YEEEAAAAH, Don Cazayoux.
Second of all, Cleo Fields represented the Capital Region from 1993 to 1997. And who did the Democratic Party endorse in every one of Cleo's elections for the seat at that time? Oh, YEEEEEAAAAAH, Cleo Fields.
Finally, there is a history of Republican dirty tricks around election time, especially dealing with robocalls. When the folks of Daily Kingfish confirm the source of these calls, it will be posted here and at Daily Kingfish, and we will forward all the information to the Attorney General's office to see if they can press charges.
