I have heard from Clinton supporters that caucuses disenfranchise Democratic voters. They claim the better measure of popular support is the primary system. Now Clintonistas are claiming the Washington State caucus doesn't count because we had a primary.
Yes Washington State did have both a caucus and a primary. During the caucus there was a huge turnout compared to prior election years. We finally had a say in who the Democratic nominee for POTUS would be. Overwhelmingly we voted for Obama.
Now I hear that Clinton dead-enders are claiming our primary was the true measure of who Washington state wanted for president. HOWEVER, I, like many of my friends and family, DID NOT VOTE IN THE PRIMARY. This is because we knew it was just a beauty contest - not worth anything politically. Low and behold the Obama did not receive the victory margin during the primary that he had in the caucuses.
Now Clinton supporters are using this as evidence of caucuses disenfranchising their voters and being unfair. If WA had a real primary many more supporters for Obama would have voted giving him a much larger margin.
This is just another example of Kool-Aid induced Clinton supporters whining about the process they agreed to. BULLSHIT!!!
