For Democrats, if not all Americans of a certain age, and for those with an appreciation of history, the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy was not the end of a political campaign, it was the final death blow to the modern American dream.
Even after the assassination of President Kennedy, and after the assassination of Martin Luther King, there was still Bobby Kennedy. Below is a clip of him breaking the tragic news of Martin Luther King’s death to voters gathered in Indianapolis:
Riots broke out in 60 cities in the wake of King's death, but not in Indianapolis. Robert F. Kennedy was killed exactly two months after Martin Luther King. Robert F. Kennedy's burial in Arlington National Cemetery was the only burial to occur at night.
It shows not only an insensitivity to the Kennedys, but a callousness towards history to casually reference the assassination of RFK as a “campaign event;” regardless of whether you believe that she was implying that Obamma could be assassinated. Unfortunately for Hillary, many people have compared Obama to RFK, not only because of Obama's similar eloquence but because of their similar stature and youth.
Indeed, Obama is the candidate most similar to RFK since RFK's death--it's no accident the Kennedy's rallied around him.
At best, she is horrifically stupid.
