I'm sure many of you have already read this piece by Jill Iscol, via Huffington Post.
It tries to lay out a case for why the media, and the DNC in general, has been unfair to HRC. As I struggle to really come to terms, in my own mind, about whether this is "fair" or not, I ask myself when did the DNC defend Obama? And, without vitrol, I come up with this list. Please add.
Update:
Apologies to Shhs, for neglecting to find this diary yesterday: shhs diary
Dear Ms. Iscol:
I don't quite understand why you believe that the DNC has unduly left HRC to fend for herself when attacked by the MSM. The DNC also did not "defend" Obama when it came to:
- "Flag pin" attacks
- The "turban pictures"
- Wright, in general
- A lopsided debate in Philadelphia
- HRC: "he says he's not a Muslim"
- Ferraro's continued comments about Obama's race
- HRC describing Obama to an inexperienced "likeable guy" like Bush
Let me also point out that Senator Obama defended Ms. Clinton
- Regarding her RFK remarks
- Regarding her "plantation" remark
I am sure that my fellow Democrats will provide you with an additional items for this list.
In the meantime, I ask you to seriously consider what it would look like if Obama were losing in the delegate count, and we had an African-American contingent that started a movement/website claiming "If Barack does not get the nomination, we'll vote McCain." Do you think THEY'D get much press? What kind of press?
