My favorite poll aggregator is electoral-vote.com. Basically, it takes all the polls of all the states every few days, and calculates exactly who is winning the election. Up until a few days ago, it showed Hillary Clinton beating McCain, but Barack Obama losing to McCain. Possibly for that very reason, there was a little picture of its current status up on Hillaryis44.com
Well, today that picture's gone, and Obama's winning 266-248.
Here's the map: http://www.electoral-vote.com/...
Yes, that's right, thanks to those fantastic Ohio results a few days back, Ohio is now tentatively blue, and that puts Obama in the lead.
Yes, that's right, even before Obama has officially been crowned the nominee, he's already taken the lead. McCain is now losing to a candidate whose numbers have done nothing but increase over the past year.
Not only that, but several of the polls are days or even weeks old, during a time when Obama's made some pretty impressive gains.
Not only that, but Bob Barr wasn't considered on a single one of these polls, and McCain is beating Obama by under 4% in 4 states (and big ones -- worth 46 electoral points together).
Not only that, but that's not counting the current statistical ties, worth another 24 points.
Not only that, but once Clinton is out of the race, the polls will only get better for Obama. McCain is going to have to fight hard just to keep the states he has, and the states he has are NOT ENOUGH TO WIN.
The "Clinton is more electable" crowd may or may not be correct, but it appears that polls confirm that if the election were held today, the only person who is demonstrable unelectable is John McCain.
