The release of Scott McClellan's new book - What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception - the already long list of the disgruntled grew longer. Given the history of previous defections, I am quite sure that we all knew exactly what the White House would say about Scott. Scott was disgruntled.
The White House has used the word 'disgruntled' as if it were a get out of jail free card. They assume the term actually dismisses the allegations of misdeeds and the press in large part has gone along with this assumption. Yes the press will cover the assertions but seem compelled to mention the disgruntled nature of the author in each case.

There are some questions that have not been asked often enough or loudly enough. Why are there so many disgruntled aids, speechwriters, advisers and staff being created by the Bush administration? Why are so many once willing to drink the party over country Kool-Aid 'disgruntled'?
The obvious questions are now - where are the gruntled and who's next? Tony Snow? Would they label him disgruntled and suffering the effects of his cancer treatment? Inquiring minds want to know.
As the son of a politician and having worked on campaigns from the age of 6, I think it is fair to say that I have had more than a passing interest in politics for a (very)long time. I cannot remember ever seeing this many former White House insiders breaking rank even after the questionable administration was out of power.
The list of Bush/Cheney defectors is so long that only Google's algorithms (Al Gore namesake?) could possibly parse it. At some point though the sheer number of the 'disgruntled' must in and of itself become the proof of the allegations.
Which current Kool-Aid drinker do you think will be the next to be disgruntled? (nope, I won't include a poll - it would be impossibly long.)
