Just a ramble for a Thursday night.
Friday, end of wageslave work week draws nigh, and we are having beautiful warm weather here in New York City, makes a person kind of dizzy.
So I thought I'd speak of the difference between force and power.
Why not?
See, I think that the Bush misAdministration never had their own power. Whatever power they had was always stolen. They are crooks, after all.
And who did they steal this power from?
I think we all know the answer to that by now. They stole that power from us. Our power to vote. Our power to be represented in the halls of government. Our power as citizens of the United States of America.
And it wasn't only our power they stole, but our money as well, our tax dollars and our entire economy.
So they are thieves. Crooks and thieves. And, of course, murderers, as we read the numbers every day of Iraqis and US soldiers killed.
But power? I don't think so. All they had and still have is force.
I believe there's a difference between the two.
Anyone can destroy. It takes no particular talent. You want proof? Go into your kitchen and smash a plate. There, you are now a destroyer.
Of course, most of us cannot make a plate.
To create is a form of power.
To destroy is merely force.
Ok, ok, why quibble over words which can pretty much be used identically in any damned good sentence?
I dunno. I was in the mood for a ramble.
So I have proven nothing at all but remain with my initial feeling ... that these crooks, thieves and murderers know only force. Whatever power they had was stolen ... from us.
And when we retrieve that stolen power, they will have nothing at all.
