With our economy in a recession and jobs that have been hard to find for years now, we get this. There has been much reported and blogged about the advisers around John McCain. But this one really bothers me because right now I have people close to me having a very hard time finding jobs. I found this on Politico under Ben Smith's diaries. It links to a story on the AFL-CIO NOW BLOG. More after the jump.
We all know people that have lost jobs to outsourcing. We watch people with experience and education compete with people without them for minimum wage jobs just to try to support their families. It takes everything many have just to get by these days. But for McSame to have someone on his staff whose business is to get our jobs shipped overseas is beyond me.
The article was done yesterday and it was written by Seth Michaels. He gave credit where it was due.
Hat tip to Cliff Schecter at Firedoglake who yesterday wrote how McCain top adviser, Randy Altschuler, is the founder of OfficeTiger, a company based in Chennai, India. OfficeTiger’s mission was to convince U.S. companies to outsource jobs to India—and it seems Altschuler has been quite successful in shipping out U.S. jobs.
. Also quoted is a USA Today article from 2005 that is worth the read for background.
But what really sent me white hot was this quote from McSame.
He claims the overwhelming percentage of Americans who think the country is on the wrong track are just sad that the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement isn’t getting passed. His economic plans are insufficient to the challenges we’re facing—and he’s claimed that the idea there’s a recession is mostly "psychological."
. Are you kidding me. I knew some of his other statements were off the wall, but this seems to come from an alternate universe. He says he is not good on the economy and this definitely proves it.
