I'll be honest. If Barack Obama was a Republican I'd vote for him. I was brought up in a household that voted for the best candidate, whether Republican or Democrat, and yes I have voted for both. My Grandmother on the other hand is a staunch Democrat. She would vote for the devil himself if he were running as a Democrat. That's a problem.
I think the two party system is what has turned the younger generation off of politics. Think about it, all you hear is Republican this, Democrat that. Younger voters (and I'm not that young) want to know what the candidate stands for and what he/she is going to do for them, not what party they belong to. Because in the grand scheme of all things does it really matter? Too often voters look to see what the party affiliation is before they look to see where a candidate stands on the issues. And that kind of voting gets us into trouble. I believe the path this Country has gone down for some time now can be blamed, at least in part, on Party Politics.
There is alot of talk about bringing the Party (dems) together after the primary season. I don't support Obama because he is a Democrat, I support him because he is the best candidate. If Hillary manages to wrangle this nomination, she will not have my support nor my vote, no matter what it does to the Party. I cannot condone her behavior in this Primary season. I've had a President for 7 years that lies to me, that will stop at nothing to get his way no matter what the Country wants, I don't want another one. My vote is sacred to me, I'm not throwing it away on a Party.
