The Obama campaign currently has 69 offices in North Carolina and Indiana staffed by high-quality, dedicated, selfless people contributing to the amazing effort to install a transparent, open executive to help our nation get back on track. Let's show them their efforts are not unnoticed.
On Tuesday, let's make sure each one of these offices receives a food delivery from a DailyKos reader. Are there a few good Kossacks ready, able, and willing to feed these brave warriors? Yes we can!

★ Who are these staffers?
Kyman tells us more:
<<p>A young red-headed guy showed up in town. "Who is this guy?" people were asking. As I heard some say "I don't think he is from around here" but he seemed to be everywhere. Big mystery for a while until...
Come to find out... He's an Obama Staffer!... An Obama Staffer in this little town. Can you imagine? Small town Kentucky IS important to Obama!
Watching him work is like a watching a well-oiled machine. In the past week the young red-hair guy has met lots of people, made lots of calls, is setting up an office, making contacts, checking his computer, sending emails, checking his blackberry, laying out precinct workers, recruiting volunteers... much like the Energizer Bunny.
Many in the town have embraced him. Some have offered him advice, offered him a place to stay... Offered him office space, given him help....and this help is coming from all parts of our community.
I have had the chance to work with this person over the past few days... As I have gotten to know him and had the opportunity to see him at work, I quickly realized the INTENSE motivation and the SHARP focus of these young Obama staffers and it has reinforced to me WHY OBAMA IS WINNING.
They are concentrating on the final prize. They can see the end of the tunnel and they are not letting any of this "media" mess, gossip, polls or other distractions affect them. "We have a plan" he keeps telling me and now I believe him because I have seen his plan in action. He is not waivering and he is determined to do the best possible job he can while he is here.
Efforts like this are why Obama is winning
★ "Why should I go out of my way for them?"
you may ask...
Let BlueMom tell you:
When I think about the vitally important work that the Obama staffers and volunteers are doing, I'm filled with gratitude. I'm a regular contributor to the campaign, but it feels really good to send some food their way as a more concrete "thank-you." So thanks to the commenters in Kyman's diary who inspired me, and thanks to everyone working to secure the nomination for Barack Obama.
★ A How-To by Pager
- Choose the office you would like to sponsor.
- Call the office and ask how many people, total, including staff and phone bankers, they have in the office. Ask to speak to the volunteer coordinator or office manager. Contact info for NC here, for IN here.
- Ask the coordinator/manager what restaurant he would suggest you use for a food delivery. (Many of these offices have a favorite place that is also pro-Obama so we want to be sure and build good relationships on a very local level by throwing some love and $$$ their way. Grassroots at its most productive.)
- Call the restaurant and get an estimate on what it would cost and how many pizzas and soda, for example, it will take to feed 30 people.
- If you can afford a sole sponsorship, order the food, set the delivery time and pay with a credit card over the phone. Give the restaurant your name and number for contact and make sure to tip generously for the delivery. This serves two purposes--gives the guy at the bottom of the ladder a decent tip and saves the office from having to cough up cash when the delivery arrives.
- Once you have completed your order, call the office back and let them know they have dinner coming and at what time. They will fill out in an-kind form with you over the phone.
- If you cannot afford to sponsor the office by yourself, post an email with all the relevant information regarding how many people are in the office, what the total order will cost and see if some other folks can call in and contribute. The easiest way to do this will be to email you so that you can track totals. Each person will have to call in and pay his portion with a credit card and then fill out an in-kind form. They can fill out a form from the online link, versus each person calling the same office.
This is an easy way to do something productive for the campaign, particularly if you hate phone banking as much as I do. And...it was a wonderful experience that left me feeling refreshed and positive. So much of what we read, even here at Dkos, even from supporters, is all gloom and doom. This is a concrete way to put your money where your mouth is and do something. And free dinner really perks up the spirits of those on the ground, working their asses off for the campaign.
Below is a table listing each Obama office, with a corresponding cell for dkos commenters who will volunteer to have food delivered/brought to that office on Monday night. Add your name to this list of champions by telling us below which town's Obama staffers you want to feed.
Also, if you know of good restaurants to suggest in these towns, please post those in the comments also.

EXTRA IMPORTANT: Please fax the form and receipts for yor purchases to the attention of Obama HQ Finance Compliance staffer
Alexa at (312) 819-2088.
A last plug to give you that extra motivation:
I just can't tell you how good the experience was from the pizza company, to the guy on the phone, to the volunteers at the office. We made some people, who are working very hard, very happy today. I'd suggest this is a practical way to assist the campaign, instead of bitching in diary after diary about the unfairness of the MSM, the racism, the anger, and every other negative that has come up recently. Doing something constructive feels good...
-- Pager
When I called the Asheville, NC office, I said, "I just saw a diary on DailyKos about bringing food to the local offices," and the woman laughed and said, "That DailyKos, he keeps me sane."
And she and I are both, by age and race, in the "typical Hilary voting demographic."
-- Quaker Warrior, another proud donor
Here is your reward for getting to the bottom of the diary ;-)
Now volunteer if you can!
