I don’t know how to take this, but if this is the attitude of the Clinton "inner circle" I really wonder what their idea of a "winning attitude" is all about. I read this blip on The Huffington Post tonight about former New York City mayor, and Clinton supporter, Ed Koch basically saying if Sen. (Barack) Obama would meet defeat in November.
"I believe Obama probably will win [the Democratic nomination], although in politics you never ever can count anybody out," said former New York Mayor Ed Koch. "I think Hillary is doing a magnificent job and is a great candidate and if anybody can pull it out, she can. But my honest opinion is, it probably won't happen. And that he will be the candidate and that he will lose."
Great attitude Mayor! Way to rally the troops! NOT!
Mayor Koch's comments here
Is this the way the Clinton brain trust think of Sen. Obama and the Democratic Party’s chances in November? Is this the way we are approaching the G.O.P? No wonder we are in this "loser cycle" we liberals dread every Presidential cycle. If we don’t take Sen. Clinton as our nominee our chances for winning is history! Obama is toast against McCain? He won’t stand up to the scrutiny? He botches up Rev. Wright? Oh come on, your thinking is so 20th century and is the reason this party is in the world of hurt it has been the past eight years.
I don’t claim to be a spokesperson for the 21st century generation of voter, but I for one am tired of the party bosses, MSM, and anyone else who have those same tired trends that were fashionable for Dems decades ago. The one thing these old fogies have missed in their assessment of Senator Obama and this campaign is this is the PEOPLE’S CAMPAIGN not the PARTY’S CAMPAIGN!
No candidate on the local, state or national ever caused me to contribute money, hit the pavement, and talks to my family and friends like Obama. None of the other candidates trucked before (even Bill Clinton) ever made this campaign about me—about us—like this one. The problem with Mayor Koch’s estimate of Senator Obama is he underestimates the people working with the campaign and the millions ready to rally behind Barrack, Michelle, and their family all the way to Pennsylvania Ave.
Koch thinks it’s all about Hillary (about them).
We say this campaign is about us! It’s about U.S.! IT’S ABOUT US AND IT’S ABOUT TIME!!
