Who is Steve Ybarra, superdelegate from California, to put up his vote for sale? That's what he says he wants to do, to make sure his candidate spends what Steve Ybarra wants him or her to spend on registering Mexican Americans to vote.
Ybarra's implicit suggestion is that Mexican Americans need not only the spilled blood of American veterans and the valiant efforts of suffragettes to execute the franchise, they also need special handling, coaxing, and cash.
I'm really hurt to see this. I know horsetrading goes on privately, but for a guy to come out in public and put his superdelegate vote for sale, for the sake of being "shown the money" indicates that he doesn't really want what's good for the country, only what's good for Steve Ybarra's agenda, which is not even the agenda of Mexican Americans themselves.
I wonder what all the Latino-heritage Americans in Iraq, fighting for a democracy that isn't even their own, think about Ybarra putting up his vote for sale?
