Ok people the race is over. It's been a long tough campaign. We're bloodied and bruised but still kicking. And we have the chance to change the world.
But only if we as brothers and sisters come together for something far bigger than our pride. Far bigger than ourselves. And I ask all of us to just stop with the hateful comments.
Our brothers and sisters are feeling lost and angry. Imagine how you would feel. We are Democrats. We base our platform, our very lives on compassion for others. We fight for the little guy. That's who we are and no candidate can change that. We are Democrats. We're for the single mom. The young woman who needs a second chance at life because of a mistake. We're for health care for all. We're for peace. We're for equal rights. We're for restoring our liberties. But we can't have peace without understanding and compassion. Even for those we disagree with.
We need to just stop the divisive rhetoric, the snide remarks, the snappy comebacks. They are our brothers and sisters. We still have the same goals and values. That's not changed one iota.
Because if we don't come together. We will lose.
And so will those kids that need health care.
So will those soldiers who will die because we couldn't come together.
So will those young girls who need a second chance.
So will those children who need a better education.
the GOP and the corporate media have tried their damnedest to divide us.
let's not give them the satisfaction.
Can you imagine Limbaugh,Hannity and their ilk gloating about how they manipulated our people?
Can you imagine our pride causing Roe v. Wade being overturned?
What do we tell the children when they ask why we are still at war?
Why we don't have health care?
Pride is a hard thing to swallow and it's going to take a healthy dose of it from both sides. Also be aware that there are imposters coming here and to other places instigating divisiveness. Pretending to be one side or the other and setting fire to a discussion and fanning it.
So it is my pledge to do everything I can to stop this divisive rhetoric and I pray the rest of you will stand with me and our brothers and sisters from the Clinton camp as we work through this. I hold no animosity. I see the light at the end of this dark tunnel.
I see justice in seeing Bush investigated by a real Attorney General so that no other generation will have to pay for our mistakes.
We should not accept divisive rhetoric from either side. I wish there were some way to moderate the posts here and ban those who insist on dividing us. Our task is critical. It's of the gravest importance. We cannot fail. Not this time.
United we stand ,divided we fall. For we believe in the same ideals. Equality, justice, freedom and peace.
it's bigger than us. it's for our children and their children.
I'll leave this diary with a song. One that defines my life. One that speaks to our higher ideals. One of unity.
This I pray Amen
