To the majority of Clinton supporters who (like the majority of Obama supporters) have more often than not been respectful of this primary process and the people engaged in it (e.g. candidates, voters, etc.), thank you.
Thank you so much for actually caring about the current condition of this country.
Thank you so much for your support of the Democratic Party.
Thank you for watching the primary runs with us.
Thank you for combing through the blogs and sitting through tons of debates and listening to the idiot pundits with us.
Thank you for putting up with and if necessary fighting back against the bullshit stories and rumors spewed about both our candidates with us.
Thank you for speaking up and out against the MSM with us.
Thank you for keeping abreast of the issues with us.
Thank you for patiently and warmly teaching us about the issues that are important to you and patiently and warmly learning about the issues that are important to us.
Thank you for supporting your candidate without disparaging mine.
Thank you for strongly acknowledging Obama's many solid strengths even as you critiqued his weaknesses.
Thank you for acknowledging that, based on the Dem Presidential primary process we currently have in place, Obama is the Democratic Party Presidential primary candidate for 2008.
Thank you for vowing to vote for him this November, and not just vote but also phone bank and donate and fundraise and canvas and register voters for the Democratic Party for November and beyond. And thank you for being willing to do these things without asking me to jump through hoops for you, WITHOUT asking me to diminish Obama's hard fought win (cause as you know, Hillary is nothing if not a tough opponent), without asking me to do a comparison of racism and sexism in this race, in the country and in the world at this time, without asking me to diminish my joy at FINALLY feeling ACTUAL HAPPINESS and EXCITEMENT for the first time EVER when it came to voting for a Presidential candidate and then having the honor of seeing that candidate actually win the primary race.
Thank you for doing these things and making these decisions in your hearts without the need for fanfare (though you deserve some) even as a small minority that also preferred Hillary scream the loudest and act the worse and get the majority of the attention.
We are Democrats, so we ALL know what's it's like to be on a losing side of an election. We ALL know what it's like to feel a little broken, a little sad, and a little jaded by the process when the person we REALLY wanted to win doesn't. But because we're Democrats we also recognize that we are tough and we, more often than not, will always do our best to do the right thing and come together for the good of this country and the world because our goals for making this country and world a better place are LONG TERM. We always pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and move FORWARD because there is FAR to much at stake not to.
So thank you so much for the good that you have done and will do.
And I look forward to voting with you in November 2008 for the Democratic nominee so that when everything is said and done, we will ALL, finally, by God's grace and all of our hard work and good energy, win.
