Somewhat breaking news, just watched it here on local TV.
Only web link I could find is here, from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:
A Clearfield County man caught with several homemade bombs told undercover federal agents how he would hope to see Sens. Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama assassinated if either of them reaches the White House, according to an affidavit unsealed Tuesday.
"Kahle said words to the effect of, that 'if Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama, get elected, hopefully they will get assassinated. If not they will disarm the country and we will have a civil war,' " FBI Special Agent William B. Weiss wrote in an eight-page affidavit.
Real piece of work, this guy.
Bradley T. Kahle, 60, of Troutville was arrested Sunday by the Pittsburgh Joint Terrorism Task Force on a charge of unlawful import or manufacture of firearms.
Kahle had two AK-47 assault rifles, a sniper rifle and about 500 rounds of ammunition in his possession when he made that comment, Weiss wrote.
He also apparently had a plan to kill police if they ever tried to come to arrest him, and he discussed making homemade shrapnel-filled bombs to "kill as many law enforcement officers as possible"
On Sunday, federal agents searched Kahle's house and seized 16 homemade bombs.
All I can say is, thank God that he was apprehended, and kudos to the federal, state, and local law enforcement persons responsible for his arrest. Driven by an ideology of hate, and continually fueled by the failed rhetoric of right-wing radio, these people are out there.
This is a stark and real reminder to keep our eyes and ears open to the possibility that another nutjob like this may live next to you.
