Since Sen. Clinton seems to be gearing up for a fight in Denver, all the sudden Bill's sex life matters (again).
Normally I would say that the personal sexual life of a politician is not anyone's business, unless it directly effects that politicians ability to do his or her job, involves criminal activity, or the activity directly contradicts public statements made by that politician. But, since Senator Hillary Clinton appears to be aiming for a floor fight for the Democratic nomination at the Denver convention in August, and because any hope she has of claiming the nomination is based on something (i.e., scandal) derailing the presumed nominee, Senator Barack Obama, I think the personal sex life of Bill Clinton becomes relevant. It's not like our nation doesn't have a history of problems caused by his sexual urges.
Vanity Fair is running a story called, "The Comback Id" (http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2008/07/clinton200807?currentPage=1). It claims that Bill Clinton is "private-jetting around with a skirt-chasing, scandal-tinged posse" on a plane that some call "Air Fuck One". There are no specific allegations of sexual misadventures made against Bill Clinton, and the Clinton camp came out over the past weekend declaring the entire story a hatchet job. But the story does raise some very serious suggestions that should be a concern for Democrats. If, Senator Clinton were some how to nab the nomination away from Senator Obama, as it looks like she is hoping to do, and if she were to win the presidency in November, all of the sudden the sexual appetites of a First Gentleman Bill Clinton could potentially wreck havoc on our nation again.
Whether you believe the Impeachment of President Bill Clinton was part of a "vast right-wing conspiracy" or not, I think everyone can agree that most of it was avoidable had the Clintons just shot straight with the American people. They did not. And, it seems they still do not know how to shoot straight, as Senator Clinton's presidential campaign has demonstrated. Since they still don't seem to be able to face reality head on, why should we think they have changed about how they protect themselves from political fallout regarding Bill's sexual indiscretions? More importantly, do we even want to put them to that test again?
While Bill's sex-life is probably not a pleasing topic to anyone besides himself, it again becomes an important and relevant topic for our nation. We should all be asking some very serious questions. What if during a President Hillary Clinton administration, Bill Clinton had a sexual contact outside his marriage with a woman who works in the White House? What if that woman were to file a sexual harassment complaint? How would a President Hillary Clinton act to protect her own presidency from the scandal? Would she cover the story up? Would she try to silence the woman making the accusation? Could we expect either Hillary or Bill Clinton to answer truthfully if questioned by law enforcement officials regarding the matter? And if they didn't answer truthfully, what then? Oh, what a can of worms we will be opening if we elect Senator Clinton president.
All this may sound as if it is beyond belief and outrageous, except that we've been down this road before with the Clintons. And, since the Clintons seem to be considering themselves still in play for their party's nomination, I think it is fair to inquire deeper into exactly what has Bill been doing on "Air Fuck One".
