As we go through this so-called oil crisis, I have been amazed as I have watched Republican after Republican scream and pound their chests about drilling in "ANWAR" and the oil companies bloviating about needing more offshore drilling sites due to the "tight" oil supply.
Meanwhile you have Republicans also talking about China drilling offshore of Cuba. Of course this is false, but that does not stop folks from saying it and the media just letting this issue get murked up by their "two truths" mentality.
Meanwhile, the oil companies have 10,000 unexcercised permits, and 34 million acres of on-shore land that has been leased to the oil companies but they are not using to increase their oil capacity.
The Corporate - Neo-con truth and reality are part of this "two-truths" mentality I speak of. Both left to sit out there in the media to keep the waters murky.
If the media did their job, this subject would not be so murky for the ignorant and so frustrating for the informed. As you read, the only conclusion you can come to is we have representatives in Congress that are protecting the oil companies and their greed and pushing a mid-east agenda that can only lead to more bloodshed and profiterring by the oil companies and defense contractors..
So we have an oil crisis well, right off the jump, here is the evidence that says basically the oil companies have not done in 8 yrs. what they are supposed to do with the subsidies that they get from us, the taxpayers.
- increase capacity
- research alternative fuels
They have done none of number 1 and dabbled in number 2 all the while knowingly pushing alternative fuels to the side b/c oil is how they make their money.
Exhibit A :
In the last four years, the Bureau of Land Management has issued
28,776 permits to drill on public land; yet, in that same time, 18,954 wells were
actually drilled. That means that companies have stockpiled nearly 10,000
extra permits to drill that they are not using to increase domestic production.
Further, despite the federal government=s willingness to make public
lands and waters available to energy developers, of the 47.5 million acres of
on-shore federal lands that are currently being leased by oil and gas
companies, only about 13 million acres are actually Ain production@, or
producing oil and gas (Figure 2). Similar trends are evident offshore as well
(Figure 3), where only 10.5 million of the 44 million leased acres are currently
producing oil or gas.
Exhibit B :
Oil giants returning to Iraq through no-bid contracts
BAGHDAD — Four Western oil companies are in the final stages of negotiations this month on contracts that will return them to Iraq, 36 years after losing their oil concession to nationalization as Saddam Hussein consolidated his power.
Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total and BP — the original partners in the Iraq Petroleum Co. — along with Chevron and a number of smaller oil companies, are in talks with Iraq's Oil Ministry for no-bid contracts to service Iraq's largest fields, according to ministry officials, oil company officials and a U.S. diplomat.
The deals, expected to be announced on June 30, lay the foundation for the first commercial work for the major companies in Iraq since the U.S. invasion, and open a new and potentially lucrative country for their operations.
By the way, who will be guarding these oil fields when this operation gets going folks ??
Exhibit C :
Well, no prohibitive evidence yet on this one but, I have some real estate to sale you in the 9th ward in New Orleans if you do not believe that:
- Haliburton will have a no-bid for firefighting etc.. instead of the Iraqis for these oilfields and .....
- The American military will stay in Iraq to make sure that this flow of oil is ininterupted. In essence, the troops are not coming home. This was the plan from the beginning and most of us here knew it and were scoffed at. Saddam and his WMD ?? LIES !!!
- Blackwater forever !! Privatized military.
You doubt me ?? Meet me in New Orleans.
Exhibit : D
Finally, enter Lindsey Williams.
This gentleman seals the deal for me :
Lindsay Williams gives an eye-witness account of the deliberate curtailment of the flow of oil from Alaska to the United States and down to the lower forty-eight states. Lindsay Williams gives a firsthand account of his experiences while a chaplain of the Alyeska Pipeline Company, which is what the Alaskan pipeline builder was called.
Go pop some popcorn and sit back and watch Linsey Williams' presentation to a captive audience. I wonder if you will ever see this guy get interviewed in the corporate media.
Watch :
Lindsey Williams
There are 8 parts to this lecture totally just over 1 hr.
You tell me, who's screwing who here ? Do oil executives and oil company friendly politicians wear flag lapel pins ?
Bottom line, the oil companies do not need anymore allocated lands for drilling because they have plenty of leased land to drill on now in the America that they are not using. It's much cheaper to steal oil from Iraq because the land has already been explored and they are already drilling it, so "big oil" saves money quite easily in this case and no-bid contracts is like taking candy from a baby.
Lastly, stop the BS, China isn't drilling off the coast of Cuba.
The American public is so easily deceived and the Republotic neo-cons know it.
Lastly, if the media would actually report the news instead of hiring entetainers to "muddy" up the truth so all of the media execs. can bask in their portfolios, we would all be much better off as a nation.
I'm just putting it where the masses can absorb it.
