The fight against cancer is something that's near and dear to my heart, and those of people in my family. Two members of my family are doing something about it.
Tomorrow, here on Massachusetts' lovely North Shore, the North Shore Medical Center will be holding their annual cancer walk, to raise money for cancer research.
Who's walking? Not me, sorry--my knees can't make it 6-plus miles :-). However, my mother, a breast cancer survivor herself, has walked for the past few years.
This year, she gets company.
That would be my 12-year-old daughter, Brigid.
Mom and Brigid are walking in honor of their son/uncle, and my brother, Patrick, who died of esophageal cancer at 39 this past October.
If you feel like contributing to the fight against cancer, and making my mother and especially my daughter--who's very excited about the whole deal--feel good, here are the places where you can donate to the cause online.
For Mom, go here.
And for the kid, you can go here.
Thanks for your consideration.
