I'm watching the Russert-less "Meet The Press," and I am sorely disappointed that Brian Williams isn't showing a bit of objectivity so far. Fulfilling my sig line, Williams hasn't laid a glove on McCain so far, while beating Obama's surrogate Sen. Joe Biden over the head with quotes from Liz Sidoti and David Brooks. Following up, the Harwood-Mitchell "press" group is continuing to pass on their line that "it's tight, Obama should be doing better, blah blah blah." That's not my biggest problem, though.
It's Sen. Lindsey Huckleberry Graham.
Huckleberry Graham said, and I quote, "I want a president who doesn't try to unilaterally tell his neighbors what to do."
Oh? Really? That's what you believe? That's your position?
Let the fun begin after the jump....
So, you were against George Bush unilaterally declaring war on Iraq?
You were against George Bush unilaterally spying on Americans?
You were against George Bush telling Mexico and Canada how to enforce their sides of the borders?
You were against George Bush unilaterally declaring himself above the Constitution?
You were against George Bush unilaterally giving our interrogators the right to torture?
You were against George Bush unilaterally trying to commit us to Iraq forever?
Were you?
I'll ask again, Sen. Graham, were you against these unilateral actions?
NO.
No, you weren't. You supported Bush on all of these actions, or at the very least, you refused to directly say what he was doing was wrong. You've toed the party line on all of these issues. You've backed your good buddy, Sen. John McSame, as he's been on both sides of every issue, showing a lack of integrity. You've been a good ol' boy for the Republican Party, leading the impeachment drive against Bill Clinton, backing Bush, backing McCain, backing all of the horrid policies that have led to our nation facing high gas prices, high food prices, a homeowners crisis, a credit disaster, a massive deficit, and continued lost jobs.
Where do you find the temerity inside that cowardly soul of yours to accuse Barack Obama of being a sellout, of being a "Decider," because he said he wants to renegotiate NAFTA? Is it because you and your party are completely subservient to the people who have benefited most from NAFTA? Is it because McSame tried to compare him to Bush in his Jello speech? Is it because you are just lacking any moral grounding whatsoever, and refuse to recognize McSame's public financing flipflop, which, by the way, broke the law?
Or, is it because you hate it that our guy is beating you at your own game?
Regardless, as Sen. Biden pointed out, you really don't want to go there, not with McCain's history, not with your backing of Bush. I'm not asking for an apology, because you'd never give it or never mean it. I'm just calling you out for what you are, Huckleberry, an opportunistic, lying piece of Senatorial trash.
