Great news from the state that brought you the latest big Democratic celebration in the MS-01 Travis Childers win. Former Governor Ronnie Musgrove is ahead of Roger Wicker in several of the latest polls. Barack Obama leading the ticket has brought a new level of enthusiasm among Mississippi Democrats.
At my home blog Cotton Mouth, we covered the MS-01 race like none other. We told y'all then, yes we can win in north Mississippi, and we did. Now we are back, this time bringing news of a very possible Senate pickup in Mississippi.
At Cotton Mouth we have been taking an in-depth look at the abysmal voting record of Roger Wicker.
Wicker repeats offshore drilling myths
Roger, there were oil spills due to Katrina. Just saying that there were not does not change the reality. Gas prices will not be brought down by any drilling until 2030, so stop acting like this a sure fire fix.
Will the real Roger Wicker please stand up?
What I want know is which Roger Wicker do the voters of Mississippi get? His history on agriculture and veteran's affairs offer a proven, documented and persistent voting record of wrongheadedness. His last two votes show a different Roger Wicker. Is there maybe a chance that his recent turnaround is a product of the that fact he is trailing former Governor Ronnie Musgrove in the most recent polls?
Senator Roger Wicker Voted No On Possible Solutions To Gas And Energy Prices
Why did he vote against the bill?
Wicker Has Taken Almost $250,000 From Oil And Gas Industry. Since coming to Congress, Wicker has accepted $248,235 from oil and gas interests.
Roger Wicker Opposed Accountability After Hurricane Katrina Decimated Mississippi's Gulf Coast
As we’ve shown you here and here Roger Wicker seems determined to whitewash his record of failing the Coast. This is example #5 of how Roger Wicker failed our Gulf Coast and why for showing such lack of foresight he should not be allowed to serve as one of Mississippi’s United States Senators.
Wicker agrees to debate Musgrove... sometime between now and November
Wicker tepidly agreed to debate Musgrove several times before November. Too bad he already backed out of the first debate scheduled for July 31 at the Neshoba County Fair.
Ronnie Musgrove is ahead in this race and we need to do whatever it takes to keep it that way. The end of the quarter is fast approaching. Ronnie Musgrove was way behind at the end of last quarter in financing. Musgrove had around a half million to Wicker's special interest laden three million. The DSCC is poised to throw their wieght into this race, but we need to show ground level support for Ronnie. With Barack Obama on the ticket, this is a more than winnable race.
If you have not given yourself dry please help us by donating to Cotton Mouth for Ronnie Musgrove. Mississippians thank you, especially the forgotten ones.
