OK, I am finally, officially, tired of the grammar problems, misspellings, and general misuse of aphorisms.
So - fellow Anal Retentives, follow me below the fold for my rant about this.
Which to tackle first is a hard choice.
- I have to say it is "should have" or "could have" or "would have" rather than "should of", "could of", and "would of".
Think about it folks, does it make sense to you with the "of"? NO. So, let's get it right, OK? Please, no more "should of, would of, could of". Thanks
- TOE the LINE. It's not "tow the line", it's toe the line. The phrase has disputed origins, but it is generally believed to originate from foot races, where one must stay behind the line before the starter's pistol. "Toeing the line", then allows you to be as far forward as possible before the race. In other words, one who does not stray beyond a rigidly defined boundary.
- That vs. Who. It should not read "The person that", rather it should be "the person who". People are not things, "that" refers to things, "who" refers to people.
I welcome other nit picking...
Update: Thanks for correcting my spelling of Kossacks. :) And a h/t for finding me saying "that" when I meant "than".
