I'll admit it, despite all the unity talk, despite the need for Hillary's supporters to come on board for the GE, I was in a lather last night. A genuine ring-tailed tizzy that is seldom found outside the realm of five year olds up past their bedtime. I couldn't have been angrier if I were twins. I got on DKos last night, and I was going to rip Hillary but good.
Why? Follow me past the jump....
During her speech last night, I didn't expect her to concede, but I really didn't expect what I got.
- More spin on how she won the popular vote - thus the primary was a sham and Obama's nomination a sham and continued on that every vote should count;
- Claims that she won Texas, even though she lost delegates when you count both the primary and the caucus - you know, like the actual state does;
- Invites her supporters for their input in what she should do next in an attempt to ramp them up even further;
- Failed to even acknowledge Obama's passing the delegate count for the nomination, much less conceding, even as McCain panders to her supporters;
and then there is this little gem from Americablog, with video

Newsweek's Howard Fineman just said on MSNBC at 8:35pm Eastern that the Clinton campaign is demanding that Hillary be offered the VP position, which she will then decline, and then Fineman quotes the Clinton campaign as saying "don't you dare offer it to another woman." Isn't that special. Apparently, Hillary was only planning on breaking her own personal glass ceiling. For the rest of you, you can break you own.
I was ready to go, then something ocurred to me. Angrymouse. Yesterday, Angrymouse, a self-described Hillary supporter had a great diary about how he/she had supported Clinton, but now it was important to beat McCain. With that, AM, though disappointed, fully supported Obama's candidacy, and I have to tell ya - it felt pretty nice. I was tired of fighting my own people, and tearing down candidates that are only a whisker apart when it comes to issues. You remember issues, it's what is supposed to be important when deciding on a candidate, regardless of what the media chooses to cover. Angrymouse wasn't alone, as their have been some great posts about mending fences from the Clinton side.
With that in mind, let me say this. Congratulations to Hillary Clinton on a win in South Dakota and a very strong national campaign. I have a sister who I would lay down in traffic for, and who doesn't take crap from anyone, and it was nice to see a woman establish herself as a viable and competent candidate who would have made a very nice president. Know that my intentions are not pure, and I do this not for Hillary, but for my fellow Dems who supported her. Here is to you, the angrymouses (angrymice?) of the world. I salute you.
