So Hillary is dropping out, maybe. But that doesn't mean she can't try to go out in style.
From an AP story on Obama's new VP committee:
Bob Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television, was lobbying members of the Congressional Black Caucus to urge Obama to place Clinton on the ticket. He said he was doing so with her blessing.
Luckily, Charlie Rangel is the voice of reason here:
Rangel, a founding member of the caucus, expressed doubts that Johnson's approach would work. "I don't really think that the way to get Obama to choose) Clinton would be to put pressure on him. I think it would have the opposite effect," Rangel said.
Bob Johnson has been a loose cannon in the primaries before. His actions have been almost as maniacally unhinged as Terry McAullife at times. But if he is actually telling the truth, Clinton seems to be moving into desperation mode. Either she is getting signals that she is losing support all over the place, or she is in fact the least strategic politician ever.
