Time will show that this exit by Hillary Rodham Clinton was more gracious and magnanimous than most other high profile exists in the Democratic nominating process history.
I will offer no analysis of the speech, but a realization I came to as I carefully listened. Much of the rift between Clinton and Obama supporters these past few months has been the belief that one camp is right while the other is wrong. Today, it was apparent that for most of the time, we were all right. And now we are at that intersection of right and wrong once again.
So, here's what I'm going to do (or just did a few minutes ago)
Now, I know some will point out that my hard-earned money will go to Mark Penn, or even Senator Clinton, a millionaire. But that's not why I just donated to the Clinton campaign for the first time. I just witnessed a woman with bottled-up frustration of months upon months of hard work and sleepless nights come out in hope that we all join together in standing up for the causes we believe in. She has come closer than anyone ever should without winning the nomination. I cannot pretend to imagine what that must be like. Yet, today she spoke of unity, and the causes she we all believe in.
So, I gave her campaign money in relief because at this moment, doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong, the only thing that matters is being right in the next few months, fighting the good fight, and selecting the only course that will deliver us out of this mess: electing a democrat.
Unite. Yes We Can. Yes We Will.
