Not now, not yet.
But come November, all this love is going to turn tentative, and circumspect. We who support you so strongly against McCain will fight all-out through the election, when I fully expect to see you victorious.
I shall certainly party that day...But Wednesday A.M., it's time to be a skeptical American again.
Please, nobody should mistake my intentions here--and I realize I'm getting ahead of myself. Nonetheless, I think this day when Obama has fully become our nominee to the Presidency, is a great time to remind ourselves of the type of "question authority" independently minded people we've been over the past 5 years.
There will be much that Obama and other democrats do that we will not like: there will be compromises, half-truths, and diplomatic strong-arming in the coming administration--though far less than in the current and previous ones.
But I wanted to remind us here at DKos of the sort of hard-nosed, questioning, and difficult citizens that we will and should be come January when President Obama takes office.
So, having made this little reminder--let's get back to celebrating and campaigning. I have no doubt we'll be back to our gadfly selves when Obama is sworn in.
Congratulations to everyone who worked for this!
