Hi everyone,
Georgians, like most in the nation, have focused most of our attention on the presidential race but another very important race closer to home is taking place. Several Democratic candidates are running to challenge Saxby Chambliss for the Georgia U.S. Senate seat.
The candidates are:
Rand Knight (ecological scientist (PhD) and businessman. Rand is the first candidate with no prior experience to receive the endorsement of the Georgia AFL/CIO )
Jim Martin (current GA Comm. of Human Resources)
Vernon Jones (conservative Democrat who voted for George W. Bush in 2004.)
Josh Lanier (aide to former Senator Herman Talmadge)
Dale Cardwell (journalist)
- Jim Martin recently admitted to a Democratic gathering that he did not know what FISA is.
- Rand Knight is the first candidate with no prior experience to gain the endorsement of the GA AFL/CIO
This weekend all of the candidates took part in a recorded debate hosted by the League of Women Voters. The debate will be aired in its entirety tonight at 8pm on GPB/NPR.
According to people who saw the debate live, Rand Knight won the debate handily. Please tune in tonight and learn about these Democratic challengers.
Change is in the air - don't let the red clay fool ya. :)
