After watching [politician] yesterday on [major news network], I had something of an epiphany. Of course, conventional wisdom would dictate that a vice presidential candidate should come from an important swing state, so it helps that [politician] is from [important swing state]. But what matters much, much more is the ability to fire up the base and appeal to swing voters.
I think we can all agree that after yesterday, there is no better choice for VP than [politician who was in the news yesterday].
Ever since the primary race started, I have been thinking about [issue]. While [issue] gets barely a mention in the main stream media, the general consensus around here is that [issue] will become a major issue for voters this November. McCain has said repeatedly that [paraphrased McCain quote] and that he will [action at odds with issue]. Back in [month] he said:
[quote from a McCain townhall meeting]
And later he said:
[quote from a McCain appearance on a network news broadcast]
I am a [long-time/new] Obama supporter, so of course I loved it when he said that [paraphrased Obama quote].
[quote from an Obama rally speech]
[quote from an Obama media event]
So, when [politician] stood up and proclaimed [paraphrased quote about issue], I applauded. The media insists on spinning [his/her] comments, but the simple fact remains that [politician] understands [issue] better than anyone I can name. [Politician] certainly understands it better than John McCain.
With Obama's perceived weakness on [issue], it's more important than ever to make sure that voters are thinking about [issue] this November. Adding [politician] to the ticket with all but guarantee that we win this election. [Issue] is too important an issue to ignore or set aside. While I understand Obama's [reluctance/enthusiasm] on [issue], it remains one of his weak areas.
[Politician] brings a balance to the ticket. There has been a lot of talk about [politician #2] and [politician #3], and of course [politician #4] would be a safe choice for VP, but this election is too crucial to play the safe bet or make the expected choice.
[Politician] for VP!!!
