Obama takes it to the street on this one folks!
It's been a bad week for John McCain. We've all counted at least 12 blunders by him or his surrogates (whether the networks places it in a cable loop or not). And now Barack Obama has made it worse for him, with a doozy of a radio ad, we've all been waiting for.
Yesterday, Obama proclaimed "We don't need another Dr. Phil". Well, today, he created a stinging response to John McCain's claim that Obama would raise peoples taxes, that also cuts to McCain's lack of honesty, and being McBush. Sen. Obama actually calls him "McSame", while comparing him to Karl Rove & George Bush in the ad! No joke! There's so much material here.
Somebody got "McSlained"!

The Politico via TPM text below.
MAN: Oh man - he's starting already...
WOMAN: What now, honey?
MAN: John McCain. He's got new ads attacking Barack Obama on taxes.
WOMAN: Well, that's not new. Bush, McCain, Karl Rove - that's how those guys work.
MAN: Oh yeah, but this is shameful. He's just makin' stuff up.
WOMAN: Yeah?
MAN: But get this. Independent sources are putting McCain in his place. I went to FactCheck dot org. They said quote "it's not true."
WOMAN: Huh.
MAN: And look what Time says. Quote, "It makes sense that McCain is returning to the old playbook. But that doesn't mean he can just make up his own facts." End Quote.
WOMAN: Yowza! So what's the truth?
MAN: Obama's plan cuts taxes on the middle class - and won't raise taxes on anybody making less than two hundred fifty thousand a year. But McCain wants billions in new corporate tax breaks...and no way to pay for it.
WOMAN: Hmm. Sounds like George Bush all over again.
MAN: Guess that's why they say: John McCain - McSame as Bush!
WOMAN: Uh-huh.
Voiceover: On taxes, get the facts. Visit BarackObama.com
Obama: I'm Barack Obama, candidate for President, and I approve this message.

Wow! Go Obama.
Is Obama finally taking off the gloves? I find it funny that the media likes to speculate on Obama's June $$$, while he continues to open offices, hire new paid staffers, and mints new ads (like this). Are they even paying attention? I'm glad his campaign, took a swipe at that $$$ notion, and the WSJ article today.
I'm also sure McCain will complain, that this is some sort of attack ad, and not "a new kind of politics",, but Obama needed to hammer back at stuff like this.
After all, potential McCain VP/former Corporate CEO, Carly Fiorina discussed the subtle irony, of 'why men are covered for Viagra, when women are not for contraception'. When a reporter later asked McCain about this, he just stared, twisted, and eventually said "I don't have an answer". When the reporter, pressed, and reminded him of his own vote on the topic, McCain said he couldn't remember his own vote on the legislation (legislation that denies women birth control on their insurance).
Yowza! This is the candidate, who wants to pilfer women voters away from Obama? What a joke!
I hope obama hits McCain big time on womens healthcare, and blends its cost with the economy and "Dr. Phil's" new "mental" economics.. I actually find it refreshing that Obama signed off on the term "McSame" and made the correlation of Karl Rove & Bush in an ad. Can't wait for the TV version.
Update: This ad was covered on CNN's "Situation Room" today.
As much as I love the radio ad, why didn't Obama go after Phil Gramm again today (as I've been thinking lately, and as Rachel's said tonight on Countdown). Okay. Maybe he's saving it for the fall (with a test run now).
